1st Day Of School

Well summer vacation officially ended for us today and it wasn't long enough for me.  We sent the boys off to school today.  Brock off to 3rd grade with Mrs. Cowan and Daxton, our first timer, off to Kindergarten with Mrs. McDonald.
Daxton has been so excited.  We found out about a week ago who his teacher was going to be and then she sent him a personal postcard saying how excited she was to meet him and he pinned it onto his bedroom wall.  He's been ready for a long time and was upset that he didn't come home with homework his first day.
Showing off his new backpack that he picked out.
Definitely one of the cutest kindergartners I have ever seen.
Brock too is very excited to start school, despite his struggles with learning he really does love going to school.  So, I'm glad for that.
Brock picked out a Star Wars backpack and a Green Lantern lunch box this year.
The cutest 3rd grader I've ever seen!
My two big boys, I can't believe I have two kids in Elementary now, it makes me feel even older.
Brock with his new teacher Mrs. Cowan.  She seems really nice and I'm really excited he's got her this year.
Brock with his best buddy, Aiden.  They were in the same class last year and I'm so excited that they are in the same class again this year too!
Dax with his best friend Davis.  Unfortunately him and Davis aren't in the same class this year.  But, then yet again it might be good for them to be separated from each other for a little bit.
There is quite a crew of them starting Kindergarten this year from church.  We kept taking pictures as everyone arrived.  Here he is with Davis and Brendan.
Then Jack arrived so we had to take another picture.
And then Mathew and Brielle arrived so we had to get another.  Brendan, Jackson and Brielle are all in Daxton's class.
Standing in line waiting to go into class.
The younger siblings who will all be starting preschool this year, playing on the kinder playground.  (Lyric, Carson, Savannah and Mckynlee)
Waving good-bye, looking at the picture kind of makes me sad.  I know most moms are really sad when sending their child off to kindergarten.  I don't want to say I wasn't sad, but he was my 2nd to send off and he has been so ready and excited its been hard.  I am sad that those years are gone having him home.  He's my little helper and always makes me smile.  He's schedule isn't too much different than last year.  I think it will be harder for me next year when he goes a whole day.  So anyways, here's to another school year, now we're back to waking up early and being on a schedule.
